Game Development Nigeria (GameDevNG) is an online platform that shines a light on the Nigerian video gaming industry, amplifying the voices of its participants and stakeholders. We first hit the scene in 2016, stepping in to fill the information void that had been present since the dawn of local video game development in 2012.


The heart of what we do is information dissemination through our website and social media handles, where we deliver the latest news, promote events, provide resources and share updates about the video gaming scene in Nigeria. Our passion extends beyond video games — we're also fervent supporters of anything that promotes games, including e-sport gaming and tabletop games in Nigeria.

Hello again, it's been a while since we posted anything here on the website, we say apologies for that. We somehow got caught up in a myriad of things but were are back, better and open for business. 3 years and 1 Million Downloads Later…

Tonielrosoft  is now celebrating one million downloads of its free classic card game called Naija Whot.  Naija Whot  is a digitised version of the widely popular card game in Nigeria known as Whot!  The game also includes modes like  quick-play with a single robot, tournament match with 3 robots, one vs one multiplayer against a human  opponent as well as action card configurations, avatar customisations  and French  localisation  features. Naija Whot has now become  the first Nigerian game to hit this landmark based on downloads solely from the Play Store.  The game was released on December 09 2014 on the Google Play Store, which means that it reached one million in 3 years 10 months and 22 days (1422 days). The game has also been on the Google Play’s top 100 app and game charts in Nigeria for over the past 2 years now. Another game from Tonielrosoft,  Naija Ludo  is also close to the one million download landmark.
