Lagos Comic Convention 2022

The 10th edition of the biggest geek and pop culture event in Africa is back. The Lagos Comic Con is a festival celebrating the finest of Africa’s creative talents as expressed in Comics, Animation, Films, Books, and Gaming. Since its inception in 2012, the conference has been a period for creators to gather, network with peers, share their latest projects, and talk about the future of the creative economy.

Africa Comicade Gamathon 2022

The largest Pan-African creative event connecting, and showcasing the works of African digital creatives is holding its third edition tagged “SUSTAINABLE CREATIVITY“. The focus this year is on career and entrepreneurial development of the community and the creatives at large. The gamathon is a virtual 5-day event ending with a physical expo day. There would be opportunities, discussions, and advice around building a sustainable business and maximizing all possible avenues for the industry.


November 2022

African Board Game Convention 2022

The oldest board game convention in Sub-Saharan Africa is back for its sixth edition. Since 2016, there has been an annual gathering of tabletop games enthusiasts from around the world at the African Boardgames Convention – AB Con! The 2022 edition is set to feature a gaming arena with about 100 African games and over 500 foreign games. Other special events like the AB Con Kids, AB Con playtest, AB Con awards are set to revise.

The Creative Festival 2022

The Creatives Festival is an event for creatives, and industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, resolve challenges, identify opportunities and chart new waters within the creative economy in Nigeria. The maiden event is aimed at bridging the gap and navigating the creative economy in Nigeria.

Game Maker's Assembly 2022

The inaugural tech conference for African kids aged 8 to 16 launches this year. Game Makers Assembly is a brand-new platform that uses the power of video games to engage and equip African students to pursue careers in gaming. Similar to Games Britannia, it aims to ignite the passion of kids for technology and creative careers. Game showcases, hands-on workshops, career advice, and inspirational talks aimed at developing STEAM skills will be present.
