Lagos Comic Convention 2021

The 9th edition of the biggest geek and pop culture event in Africa is back. The Lagos Comic Con is a festival celebrating the finest of Africa’s creative talents as expressed in Comics, Animation, Films, Books, and Gaming. Since its inception in 2012, the conference has been a period for creators to gather, network with peers, share their latest project and talk about the future of the creative economy.

Africa Comicade Gamathon 2021

Africacomicade Gamathon is the largest Pan-African creative event showcasing the works of African digital creatives and connecting them to opportunities. The Gamathon comprises of a conference, game jam, pitch event amongst many other activities. It run for 48 hours and last year, it had over 200 participants from 12 different African countries.

African Board Game Convention 2021

ABCon 21 is the 5th edition of the biggest gathering of tabletop designers, enthusiasts, and admirers in Nigeria. There will be the usual design competition, panelist, and ABCon Awards, including a special guest appearance from Eric Lang – the world-renowned and award-winning Tabletop Games designer with ties to CMON including working on a Marvel-themed game.

3 years and 1 Million Downloads Later…

Tonielrosoft  is now celebrating one million downloads of its free classic card game called Naija Whot.  Naija Whot  is a digitised version of the widely popular card game in Nigeria known as Whot!  The game also includes modes like  quick-play with a single robot, tournament match with 3 robots, one vs one multiplayer against a human  opponent as well as action card configurations, avatar customisations  and French  localisation  features. Naija Whot has now become  the first Nigerian game to hit this landmark based on downloads solely from the Play Store.  The game was released on December 09 2014 on the Google Play Store, which means that it reached one million in 3 years 10 months and 22 days (1422 days). The game has also been on the Google Play’s top 100 app and game charts in Nigeria for over the past 2 years now. Another game from Tonielrosoft,  Naija Ludo  is also close to the one million download landmark.
